The 7th Annual Victorian Architecture and its Preservation Conference is coordinated by the Oil Region Alliance of Business, Industry & Tourism. The conference is held concurrently with the 2006 Historic Preservation and Heritage Parks Conference. The Historic Preservation and Heritage Parks Conference will be held on May 18 and 19 in Franklin with headquarters at the Quality Inn and Conference Center. Field trips are offered on Friday, May 19. Each field trip departs from and returns to the Quality Inn, which is located at 1411 Liberty Street in Franklin, PA. Registration for sessions on Saturday will be held at the Christ Episcopal Church on Central Avenue. Throughout the day, sessions will be held at the Christ Episcopal Church, the Oil City Library and the Second Presbyterian Church. We invite you to attend both Conferences, whether by attending a lecture, tour, tea, reception, luncheon, or dinner. Many of the sessions have been approved for Act 48; educators can receive academic credit for attending. An asterisk (*) denotes this approval.
The conference promotes the Oil Heritage Region, showcasing its architectural beauty and fostering interest in returning to explore the region’s diverse assets in more depth. It aims to promote preservation of our historical architecture through education and by creating awareness.
